"After each of these prompts, subjects were asked to perform tasks used to asses their creativity, such as writing descriptions of uncaptioned cartoons, interpreting abstract pictures and taking a standardized creativity test." - Seed Magazine article

Those three words just strike me as perfectly silly, a "standardized creativity test". Good grief.

The good news: The program I'm working on is moving along swimmingly. Really, it's beautiful, everything and everyone working together, it's an example to all other programs. We're poised to finish this phase of the program at the end of the month, on time and slightly under budget. Did I mention that our fuze board works? Just like it's supposed to?

The bad news: Funding of said fabulous and amazing project has been cut. So basically, we get to finish the tests that we have in progress, and then put all that nicely working hardware into a box, from whence it may never return.

The really bad news: This means that as soon as I finish these last couple bits of documentation, I have nothing left to do.... and my boss is on vacation... for a month. I predict at least one week of utter boredom before I manage to convince someone to let me help with something :P. Blah...

I rock. I have successfully designed a real circuit which is really going to be used in a real test to really blow something up. How cool is that? Probably even cooler than working on a project with a self-destruct timer, and I'm still pretty psyched about that.

Also, today, I was testing out a big circuit which I didn't design (but did lay out, :P) and it was having problems... with the self-destruct signal coincidentally. I just managed to figure out what the problem was... and it wasn't my fault! Hooray! And I managed to fix it myself, even though that involved a bit of soldering (well, unsoldering). Just don't tell my tech, engineers applying hot irons to the circuitry is somewhat... frowned upon. Best of all, I timed it so that having found and fixed said problem, it is now time to head home, buoyed by success, rather than leaving myself enough time to find the next difficulty.

Ok, maybe not, but still, a nifty idea.

Yes, I am bored, how could you tell?

Ok, I'll stop talking and go home now.

Naomi had a concert Monday night and did very well. That is the most interesting thing I have to say. Sorry.
